The Gift of Truth

If your eyes are open and you see the truth, then you know that freedom means not having a master.

You know that democracy is not a goal because it is just a form of government. You know that constitutional government is just government and the constitution doesn't really limit it.

You know that politics is not the answer, because participating in it only supports the false legitimacy of the state. You also understand that politics attracts the worst people and that the government will not hand over power willingly.

When you speak to others, be kind and courageous. Tell them the truth. The state is a fraud, a criminal enterprise. It is a creature of coercion, not consent, and it lives to plunder.

Avoid the tendency to proclaim the limited state as a way of inviting people to the ideals of freedom. Even a limited state is illegitimate and does not remain limited. To advocate a limited state is to promote the idea that a criminal organization should provide security, justice, and protection. Believe in the ability of people to face the truth.

Make a moral, not just an economic, case when attacking evil policies. Opposing them solely on economic grounds leads to endless debate. We put out one fire, and the enemy of freedom lights thousands more. Respect people's ability to respond to the moral side of issues.

Reject the idea that your views are radical. It is radical to obey rulers.

Ignore the critics who call you impractical. Speaking the truth is a virtue in itself, and ideas change the world.

Demand fundamental change and you will inspire the people who carry the freedom within them. The state is immoral and we have a moral obligation to reject it. The more people understand this, the more support for it will fade.

Be kind and courageous. Share the truth about the state with others. When they understand the truth, they will dispel their own illusions. They will live with the dignity of knowing the truth and may join you in spreading it.
