“The Eternal Principles Behind the Successful Child” - a new book about freedom

This book is a trap, and I warn you before you even open it! It is imperative that I begin with this sentence, not only because it is true, but also because it is a popular reader's practice (and mine until recently) to skip the prefaces in order to get straight to the heart of the story. With the language of the economist, I am in a competitive situation and I have to use George Orwell's favorite device - the shocking first lines - to divert you for a second to my over-wise thoughts.

The Trap is for parents who think they are expecting useful, but generally unpretentious advice or basic pedagogical know-how. In fact, in this work by Yavor Rusinov you will find much more – a narrative of basic biblical principles for life, not inferior to Jordan Peterson, a comprehensive socio-political worldview in the best traditions of classical liberalism and American conservatism, skillfully woven anecdotes from life, academic research and observations on our native reality.

I end with a confession. When I read the draft, I agreed to write this introduction because Yavor's work will fulfill a very useful function - for me personally. When they ask me sullenly and with a sigh: "Eh, how are we going to get better?", I will hand over the booklet you hold in your hands with the following words: "This is a very good start."
