Pink fascism brought us to the "level of Nazism"

I recently came across this article in Club Z, written by Evgeniy Dainov, where the author (once again) criticizes the Bulgarian people (and folk psychology) these days as having degraded to an extremely low and even barbaric level. The specific example of this that Dainov addresses is the recent riots in Asenovgrad. According to the author, the reason for such conflicts and the increase in ethnic tension is... the lack of manners. Yes, in the author's words, "hate speech" or as he puts it, "brutal speech" is the main threat to our civilization and culture.

The material is written by a person who feels in a position of moral and intellectual superiority over you, the simple plebeians, and the nasty populists whom you incite to destroy the poor European values of tolerance and pluralism, in order to replace them with fascism. In fact, exactly a year ago, on the occasion of Brexit, I wrote the following:

"The elites and the intelligentsia made a fatal mistake. They decided that since they are smart, they are necessarily right, that their political positions and beliefs are not only the right ones, but also the only valid and legitimate ones, and the masses, because they are stupid, are necessarily wrong, and their political positions are primitive, xenophobic, racist, dictated by populism, invalid and illegitimate. The elite decided that they are not obliged to discuss, to convince the common people of their rightness through arguments and arguments, to persuade and attract people to their point of view. The elite became arrogant. The elite decided that those against them are not just stupid and wrong, but are fascists, racists, Putinophiles, xenophobes, and in general worse than Hitler.

You cannot have a discussion with such people, you cannot convince them, instead you mock them, you isolate them, you alienate them, you marginalize them. However, when you marginalize a large enough number of people, you yourself become the marginalized. The intelligentsia has forgotten that it is in a minority position in a democracy, it is only now waking up to this fact, and its reaction is to howl against democracy. The elite and the intelligentsia have a duty and responsibility to society to provide a vision, to set a course, to lead, to convince of their rightness, to enlighten, to elevate, to set an example. They have abandoned their responsibility and rely on being accepted as something more than others just like that. Whatever they have laid out for themselves, they will lie down on.”

If Nazism returns, it will be because of the failure of progressive ideologies

It is true, we are falling into barbarism, we are reaching the level of Nazism, you are right about that, but the reasons escape you. If Nazism returns in this century, it will be precisely because of the failure of the far-left ideologies, those that have managed to fit into the mainstream position and present themselves as social democratic, progressive, tolerant, smart and beautiful. Pink liberal fascism will bring back traditional fascism. For those unfamiliar with the pendulum effect, it operates with full force in politics, reaching one extreme leads to a reversal of direction until reaching the opposite extreme. People who claim to be moderate, if they do not realize this, will let go of the pendulum, and it will go to the extreme.

It is a colossal irony that those who fight for tolerance, against racism, against harmful stereotypes, so willingly stereotype white, heterosexual, Orthodox men of Bulgarian origin as simpletons, violent, beaters, and so fond of labeling people with labels ending in "ist" or "phob."

I was even recently struck by how homosexuals, who are very fond of doing the same thing, are offended when someone uses the word “homosexual” instead of “homosexual” in their address. Why do you think the public bows to the strong and not to the weak? I don’t even think you realize how the public makes the distinction between the strong and the weak. The strong are those who demonstrate the ability to solve problems, and the weak are those who are not able to solve problems - harmful weak are those who either prevent their solution or create them. The Western world is currently facing a number of problems, the most prominent of which is the influx of millions of people with different cultures and different values. Many of which are antithetical to your values such as tolerance, freedom of belief and thought, pluralism, the rule of law and equality before the law.

Who will defend liberal values?

You are not strong enough to defend your values from this influx, you even make concessions regarding these values when it comes to minorities and migrants. You are ready to limit people's freedom of speech when it comes to racial and sexual minorities, because they need to be protected from hatred and bad words. You are also inclined to retreat from the rule of law. I remember last year the words and actions of human rights organizations regarding the demolition of illegal Roma buildings. "But those poor Roma who have built illegal shacks that pose a potential danger to their residents and others, where will they live if they are demolished?"

You are incapable of defending freedom of thought and belief from the millions of Muslims invading Europe, whose beliefs are antithetical to Enlightenment values. You allow them to be encapsulated in isolated communities where religious law takes over, and even try to force the local population to conform to their understanding of life and the world. Where does my freedom to have atheist beliefs go when I walk into a Sharia zone?

The liberal, the tolerant, the progressive, the solidaristic, you are importing millions of people into Europe, over half of whom are illiterate in their mother tongue, uneducated, and have no skills that can be realized on a free labor market in a knowledge-intensive economy. They will simply join the mass of the unemployed, waiting for benefits, waiting to be radicalized by fundamentalist clerics, if they did not come already radicalized and prepared to commit terrorist acts. And many of these people are just as primitive, even primitive, as the thugs here who kick old men at bus stops. You yourself claim that we have enough of them here, why do we need to import more? Because liberalism and tolerance.

All are equal, but some are more equal than others

In Asenovgrad we see that the cup is overflowing. Discontent has reached a peak. The poor brothers, decent, integrated Roma, after a successfully completed decade of Roma inclusion, are forced to beat up a group of people in order to check whether they are living in illegally built homes. And only then does the controversy begin about applying the law and demolishing their illegal buildings. And what turns out is that equality before the law does not apply, because there is one group of people who are more equal than others, who enjoy political and police protection. The popular discontent will not swallow this, and the potential fascists of the future will take advantage of this far-sighted discontent, for which you created the conditions.

I'm walking past a gay parade. Let's say I fall from Mars, I don't know who LGBTIQ people are and what they're fighting for, and the first thing I encounter is a wall of caps and epaulettes. Who are these people, what makes them so special, and why are they being protected by so many police? While I myself don't feel that I benefit to such an extent from the protection of the security structures and the law, while trust in the judicial system in the country is about 3%. I neither believe that the police will intervene when my rights, security and safety are threatened, nor do I believe that I will find justice in court. What's left for me? Where to go, who to turn to? Logically, I will orient myself towards people who can convince me that they have solutions to my problems.

And what do you do in this situation? You want to limit freedom of speech in order to fight against supposedly harsh language. You want to limit the ability of people who can express these things in writing to speak freely about the problems that exist in our society. Because they will point the finger at you and say that this is a consequence of your failed policies. You think that censorship will defeat fascism, that it will wipe it out. On the contrary, it will develop under your radar as an underground culture until it gains enough strength to come and sweep you away by force.

Why have "liberals" forgotten what liberalism means?

Then your tolerance and kindness will not save you from the rude and violent. And you claim that we are already there, that we have reached the level of Nazism. Aren't you afraid then that tomorrow crowds of Nazis will attack you and beat you because of this nonsense that you have written? How do you, the weak, actually hope to defeat the strong when you lead them to the conclusion that you are a problem that needs a solution, and that the only way they can come to terms with you is through force?

And they say that sunlight is the best disinfectant. In an open, free marketplace of ideas, it is expected that better ideas will defeat worse ones. This means that the ideals of the Enlightenment, of modernism, of European civilization, the values of freedom of speech, thought and belief, tolerance, pluralism, democracy, will defeat fascism, fundamentalism and censorship. And you resort to censorship, you don't want fascism to be exposed by discrediting itself, by simply opening its mouth in public, so that everyone can hear it.

You are afraid of what people with different opinions than yours would say. I see that freedom of speech, thought and belief is not a value you share. The right of others to have a different opinion from mine, even one that I do not approve of, is not a value for you. These thoughts, as well as the fact that “German authorities raid the homes of 36 people because of comments on social media”, make me think about who the fascists really are.
