Murray Rothbard is one of the greatest economists of the 20th century, a prominent representative of the Austrian School of economics, and a founder of the modern libertarian movement in the United States. His essay, which we present today, was first published in the journal "The Free Market" by the Ludwig von Mises Institute in 1984. In it, Rothbard aims to debunk the most popular economic myths that he most often encountered during his career as an economist. We could say that this short essay synthesizes to a very large extent the foundations of Rothbard's and the Austrian School's economic thought, and in extremely accessible language. The essay is not written for an audience of specialists and experts, but is aimed at the general public in order to educate and protect them from common economic misconceptions.

This is precisely why this text is extremely accessible and suitable for people who do not have serious knowledge of economics, but would like to educate themselves and protect themselves from the influence of mythologemes that politicians and lobbyists often use to convince citizens to agree to undertake policies that are ultimately to their detriment.
