Why do I support the additional tax for programmers?

Hello, my name is Mitko Saitov and I am a programmer. I decided to respond to Tancho Gargov's comment regarding the proposal for an additional tax for programmers.

Nobody eats software?

Tancho, you are absolutely right. I am a programmer myself and have some experience in my profession. In recent years, I have been trying to find a way to eat with computer programs for a long time, but the task turned out to be impossible. I live in the center of Sofia and there are many places to eat around me. I visited establishments of different levels and offerings: I searched the gourmet menus of the sophisticated restaurants on Oborishte Street for a five-course menu called "website", and in ordinary local pubs I hoped to find a "software" side dish to accompany the three kebabs, but in vain.

Therefore, I agree with you and support your opinion.

I myself have never wanted to get a higher salary and have a good standard of living. I don't know a single person who is trying to find a way to live better and provide better living conditions for themselves, their family and loved ones. As a programmer, I believe that my salary is not determined by the added value I bring to my employer, but by the fact that it is fashionable for people like me to be well paid.

I also love redistribution. It makes no sense for me to decide for myself where my salary, for which I work every day between 8 and 10 hours, should go. My salary should belong to the state and everyone else. Only the work, the time invested in training and the sleepless nights are mine. The fruits of my efforts are yours and this motivates me to continue developing.

It motivates me to know that my pay will be redistributed by other people and I will owe the state a higher tax because I add more financial value than another worker in a different sector. The state has proven to be an extremely efficient steward of my money and I am proud to forgo my standard of living to help qualified and moral politicians redirect the funds I have earned to projects that have been proven to work. In addition, I would like to personally donate additional personal funds completely free of charge to whatever the state decides is right. I like the idea of receiving a five-year salary and financing the repair of a recently repaired intercity road.

I am satisfied with the level of education in state universities. I am satisfied with the judicial system. I am satisfied with everything that the state, which will redistribute my money, manages and finances.

I propose that the same measures be applied to entrepreneurs and business owners. The fact that they take responsibility, invest time and effort in creating jobs and added value means that they do not deserve to live by the standard they themselves have created.

I also do not support the work of Bulgarians in foreign companies. It is extremely disrespectful when a company treats its employees with respect and provides them with good working conditions and pay. I am uncomfortable when they give me bonuses above my salary for completing projects before the deadline, when they are interested in my opinion and when I have the opportunity for career development. This type of inadequate attitude must stop.

So, Tancho, thank you. It's time to take serious measures against programmers and anyone who gets paid above the national average. Our work is not eaten, and our money is shared. Personal motivation, work and experience should not affect our standard of living.

Otherwise, Bulgaria could become a normal country.
